How to backup and restore PAC Change Management (PCM)

Created by Kristian Ware, Modified on Mon, 16 Feb at 10:16 AM by Kristian Ware

This article details the process to migrate PAC Change Management from one PC/VM to another.

Preface:

The PCM installer is just a user interface.

The SVN repository is what holds all data - projects, audit trails, previous versions, access control, etc.

To migrate all of the data, we simply need to backup and restore the SVN repository.

Keep in mind that everything must be checked-in the PCM server.

Any projects or settings checked out may not be included in the backup.

Note: In the case of a project, it's unclear if you'd lose the entire project, or just the latest revision.

Read the Backup & Restore Guides before starting so that you are familiar with the process and troubleshooting steps.

Procedure:

  1. Backup the SVN repository from the old PC/VM (Ref: Backup Guide)
  2. Install PCM in the new PC/VM (Ref: Install Guide)
  3. Restore the SVN repository to the new PC/VM (Ref: Restore Guide)
